Energy Insurance Mutual's Annual Risk Manager's Meeting was held at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, FL.  This three day "in person" corporate event was filled with excitement, entertainment, information and relationship building. From award winners, a snow boarding gold metal winner, and professional entertainers, to visits to Orlando's theme parks and attractions, great food and  Quickly & efficiently photographing award winners as the receive their awards., this event had it all!

My assignment was to photograph a series of activities over the course of three days.

Cocktail Receptions:

Photographing small groups of "happy face" people networking with colleagues. I also need to record the names of each person in the photograph so that they can be identified by name in the company newsletter.

Entertainment:

Stealthy photographic coverage of the exciting action on stage and in the audience.

Speakers & Speaker Panels:

Unobtrusive photographic coverage of all speakers at the podium and on panels. Challenges:  Finding the best angle that is flattering to the speaker, the best background to help tell the story, all without being obtrusive to the speaker, the audience or video crew. Exposure: Using just the stage lighting or combining stage lighting with a pop of camera flash when necessary.

Awards Presentations:

Quickly & efficiently photographing award winners as the receive their awards.

Executive Headshots:

Set up studio lighting and background in a designated pre-function area and photograph headshots. Photographing headshots at a corporate event is a very effective way to seamlessly, "heard the cats" while you have them all in one place and create consistency in the look of your headshots.

Themed Party:

Capturing the excitement and emption of attendees expressing themselves. Team building games and sports builds relationships naturally, without forcing it. Challenges: Finding the best angels, exposures, shutter speeds to most creatively tell the story of the event.

Women in Power Reception:

Documenting meaning full images by understanding your audience and their mission.

Celebrity Motivational Speaker and Book Signing:

Many corporate event planners hire a motivational speaker or two the inspire the audience. The EIM crew contracted Amy Purdy, a 3 time Paralympics Medalist. Amy was amazing as she spoke of all of the many tragedies and triumphs of her life. It was an unforgettable story that inspired every single person in the room.
