Assignment Highlights
Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph a truly unique corporate event — Google Cloud’s AI meeting, hosted at the Van Gogh Immersive Experience in Tampa. This wasn’t your typical conference or business gathering — it was a vibrant blend of technology, art, and innovation that made for an incredible photography experience.
The Van Gogh Immersive venue provided a spectacular backdrop, surrounding guests with moving projections of Van Gogh’s most famous works. The dynamic lighting, rich colors, and 360° visuals created endless opportunities for creative compositions. Capturing attendees as they networked and exchanged ideas against this artistic environment was both a challenge and a thrill.
From candid moments of collaboration to wide shots showcasing the full immersion of the space, each image told the story of Google Cloud’s forward-thinking approach to AI — where creativity meets technology.
Events like this remind me why I love what I do: transforming corporate gatherings into visually compelling stories that reflect the energy and vision of each brand.
Assignment Challenges
Photographing Google Cloud’s AI meeting at the Van Gogh Immersive Experience in Tampa was one of the most visually stunning — and technically challenging — corporate events I’ve covered. The venue’s constantly changing digital art projections created a mesmerizing environment, but also presented unique lighting and color challenges that required careful planning and on-the-fly adjustments.
The room was surrounded by floor-to-ceiling projections of Van Gogh’s masterpieces, each shifting in brightness, hue, and contrast every few seconds. Balancing the exposure to maintain detail in both faces and the artwork behind them was critical.
Another challenge was color accuracy. The rich blues, yellows, and purples of the projections constantly changed the skin tones of attendees. To maintain a natural look, I adjusted white balance throughout the event and fine-tuned color tones during post-production to ensure that both the guests and the art looked their best.
Despite these hurdles, the final images beautifully reflected the energy and creativity of Google Cloud’s AI team — surrounded by art, innovation, and collaboration. It was a perfect reminder that great event photography is about adapting quickly, reading the light, and capturing genuine moments in even the most unconventional settings.
